After ordering a virtual server and installing the X-ui, you will need to configure the connection. To connect to the panel, click on the link (when installing the panel, you can specify the mailbox to which an email with connection details will be sent).
If you did not check the “send to mailbox” option during installation, you can view the connection details on the server itself by connecting via SSH and running the x-ui command
After going to the panel, you will need to add a connection
To add a connection, go to the “Inbounds” section and click the “+” button.
In the modal window, you can select connection settings. The panel supports a large number of settings, an overview of which is beyond the scope of this manual. If you just want to start using it, select the “vmess” protocol, leave the other default settings and click the “Add to" button.
Please note that you can create multiple users in this modal window.
After adding a connection, you can connect clients. Click on the "Operate” link and select the “QR Code” menu item
If, as in this example, you have added two users, two QR codes will be displayed.
Connecting a mobile application to a proxy. Using the example of the v2rayNG mobile application
Next, you can scan the QR code using a specialized mobile application such as v2rayNG
In the mobile application, click the “+” button in the upper-right corner of the application.
In the menu that appears, select “Import profile from QR code".
Scan the code generated by the panel by clicking the button with the camera icon in the upper-right corner of the application.
A new connection will appear in the main application window. You can enable proxying by clicking the round button with the letter “V” in the lower-right corner of the application. When activated, the button will change its color and the status bar will display the connection status.
Connecting to the X-ui proxy using the example of the NekoRay application in the Microsoft Windows operating system
You can download the application archive by going to Releases and selecting the release for the desired platform. In our case, this is a file - nekoray-3.17-2023-08-17-windows64.zip
Unpack the archive to the desired location and run the file nekoray.exe
The main application window looks like this.
Click on the “Program” button and select the “Scan QR Code” menu item in the drop-down list. Previously, you need to open an image with a QR code in the x-ui web interface. The application will independently take a screenshot of your desktop, scan the QR code and add a connection. All this happens transparently to the user.
After that, a connection will be added in the main window of the applicationStart the connection.
There are three modes of operation in NekoRay. If you want only a specific application that supports proxying via socks5 to go through the proxy, specify the values that are displayed in the application status bar in the proxy server settings.
The second mode is “System proxy" and this mode is necessary for applications that use the proxy settings of the operating system. An example of such applications is the Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge browsers. The corresponding check mark is present in the upper panel of the application. Please note that for this mode to work, you need to activate the incoming HTTP proxy connection in the settings as in the screenshot.
The third mode is tun-mode. It is enabled in the same place, in the toolbar. This mode is necessary if you want to proxy all traffic from your computer through a proxy. This mode creates a virtual network tun interface through which all traffic is routed. After setting up the application, you can check the connection by checking the IP address.
