What is IOPS

05.01.2024, 23:39

IOPS (Input/Output Operations Per Second) is a metric that measures the speed at which I/O operations are performed on a storage device such as a hard disk or solid state drive.

More about IOPS

IOPS is an important metric of storage performance because it indicates the number of operations a device can process in a given period of time. The higher the IOPS, the faster the device can process I/O operations and the better its performance.

Input/Output Operations Per Second

Our servers with high-speed NVMe disks have a high IOPS ceiling. Our servers will be able to deliver the highest performance and responsiveness to fulfill any of your needs.

The higher the IOPS value, the faster the server can process requests and perform more efficiently and responsively.

When comparing the memory speed of our virtual servers to home SSD and HDD disks, you can see a significant difference in speed. Servers with professional NVMe disks provide much higher speed of read and write operations, outperforming home solutions and builds in speed by dozens of times even on simple shared tariffs. For dedicated servers there are no IOPS limits and their speed is initially provided at 100%.

How to remove IOPS limits

We provide for regular customers for resource-intensive tasks increased speed limits in IOPS, removing any limits depending on the used tariff and location. To get this feature you need to use the services in good faith and in time the system will allocate this function to you independently. Also, if you need it, you can coordinate its addition in our support.
