SilverStripe: Installation Guide on Your Server

SilverStripe is an open-source CMS (Content Management System) and PHP framework designed for developing web applications and websites. It provides powerful tools for developers and an intuitive interface for content managers. In this guide, we will walk you through the easy process of installing SilverStripe on your server. This script will only work on servers running Ubuntu 22.04 or 24.04.

How to Access the Server Control Panel

1. Go to the billing page and log in using the credentials sent to your email upon registration.
2. In the left-hand menu, open the "Products/Services" section and select "Virtual Servers".
3. Locate the desired server in the list and click "Go to" to open the control panel.

How to Order a Virtual Server

If you don’t have a VPS yet, you can order one in just a few minutes by following these steps:
1. Visit the PQ.Hosting homepage.

2. Scroll down to the "Server Rental" section.

3. Choose a country.

4. Select a pricing plan that fits your needs.

5. To view all available plans, use the left and right arrows.

6. Choose the rental period by hovering over the right side of the plan card and selecting the appropriate checkbox.

7. Click the "Order Server" button.

8. Proceed to server configuration:
→ Specify a domain name (if needed).
→ Choose an operating system. We recommend Ubuntu 22.04 or Ubuntu 24.04 for SilverStripe installation.
→ Select a control panel.
→ Set additional configuration parameters.

9. Once all settings are completed, make the payment, and your server will be ready to use.

How to Install SilverStripe on Your Server

1. In the server control panel, open the "Virtual Machines" section and click on the three-dot icon next to your server.

2. In the menu that appears, select "Run Script".

3. In the search bar, type "SilverStripe" and select the corresponding script.

4. Enter your email address—this is where the CMS login credentials will be sent.

5. Click "Run Script", and the installation process will begin. You can track the progress in the "Status" section.

 

6. Once the installation is complete, open your browser and enter your server’s IP address in the address bar, followed by /admin.

7. In the login window, enter the username and password sent to your email.

8. Follow the step-by-step SilverStripe installation wizard to complete the setup.

9. After installation, log in again and open the SilverStripe control panel.
Your server is now ready to work with SilverStripe!
