Hosting Provider VDSka
1 review
VDSka is a European hosting provider, positioning itself as a budget-friendly solution with a focus on flexible configurations and fast activation. The company hosts nodes in eight countries and offers only VPS/VDS services without shared hosting, making it convenient for typical infrastructure tasks: websites and web applications, services with databases, test environments, and projects with limited budgets.
Security
All tariff plans include basic DDoS filtering at the data center level. Specific threshold values are not published: if the permissible traffic volume is exceeded, automatic restrictions may be triggered. Backup is performed daily and stored for 7 days, but it is connected as a separate service. The frequency of snapshot creation and storage parameters depend on the chosen tariff, so for critical projects it is reasonable to agree upon and fix the recovery conditions in the contract in advance.
Pricing Policy
In terms of positioning, VDSka belongs to the budget segment: the client independently assembles the configuration from the number of cores, amount of RAM and SSD, and the final cost is fixed for the entire payment period.
Infrastructure
The VPS is based on KVM virtualization, thanks to which virtual machines are isolated from each other, and resources are allocated without surprises. The technical specifications separately emphasize NVMe drives combined in RAID arrays and the absence of overselling. Network capabilities include gigabit channels and ports up to 1 Gbit/s with unlimited traffic; if necessary, an upgrade to 10 Gbit/s is available for an additional fee. Server management is carried out through a standard set of tools: choice of operating system, access via VNC console, and uploading your own ISO image.
Data Centers
The provider's infrastructure is distributed across eight countries: Russia (Moscow), Kyrgyzstan (Bishkek), Kazakhstan (Almaty), Netherlands (Eygelshoven), Poland (Warsaw), Finland (Helsinki), Latvia (Riga), and the USA (Dallas, Miami). All facilities meet Tier III standards and are equipped with dual power supply and backup diesel generators.
Advantages
-
fixed price for the entire contract term;
-
NVMe-RAID as standard for all virtual machines;
-
the ability to build a custom configuration and change resources at any time.
Disadvantages
-
basic backups are not included in the VPS cost and require a separate option;
-
packet-per-second limits can "throttle" high-load network tests;
-
IPv6 is only provided as /64 without the possibility of expanding to /56 on VPS.
Technologies Used
Public descriptions mention their own VMManager panel, as well as the ability to install an OS manually via ISO. KVM virtualization is used for VPS; Linux distributions and Windows are supported.
Customer Support
VDSka's technical support is available via email and phone, and the website has a knowledge base with instructions for managing VPS/VDS. Public sources indicate that users find the specialists respond promptly and help with configurations and solving techn
Technical questions, while response times and speed may vary depending on the situation and complexity of the task.
